For all of its story flaws the Halloween Jack villain is the real strength of the movie. He looks superb and takes no prisoners with his kills. The Halloween party massacre is a particular highlight. The back story of Jack being wronged by the town is also a different way to go with a slasher movie killer and I must say I was rooting for him to take out the odious characters like the mayor and cop. If the intention is to make us like the killer it definitely worked.
